Engagement with Road Safety Stakeholders to Support BAC Reduction Advocacy to Reducing Road Crashes

CUTS International, Accra in collaboration with National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Street Sense Organization, Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service held a town hall meeting/workshop at Ebenezer Presbyterian Hall, in Osu, Accra for Motor riders, other road users to rally their support for the proposed BAC reduction.

The meeting sought to build a strong network of people and organizations to support the reforms in Ghana’s blood alcohol content (BAC) from 0.008 mg/ml to 0.005mg/ml.
The meeting was attended by National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Ride Hailers Association of Ghana (Uber, Bolt, Yango), Street Sense, Motor Riders Associations, Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Driver Unions, Vehicle Owners and some religious bodies.
