CUTS International, Accra with support from Open Society Initiatives for West Africa (OSIWA) launched report of a study titled: Making National Health Insurance Scheme Work for the People. Among other things, the study identified the increasing out-of-pocket expenses incurred by subscribers when they visit accredited health facilities. The NHIS needs to work to overcome the information asymmetry between subscribers and provider which leads to subscribers being underserved.
